Filthy Commies
Jun 16th
I will write a post about M’s visit, but there was an incident that happened on Saturday during M’s stay that deserves it’s own entry.
Let me back track a little…
Remember our Super Lesbionic neighbours? The ones we had over to the house and who fled right after S asked Maureen about whether she *gasp* had a baby with a man? S was right when she said she didn’t think we’d be seeing them again. It’s been months since they were over and they’ve not yet extended an invitation to their place – not that we’d want it.
In the months since that visit, the two Commie Bitches, especially Maureen, have gone out of their way to ignore S. For some odd reason, which I have yet to figure out, the women continue to talk to me. As a matter of fact, they’ll go to great lengths to chit chat with me.
Relaxed and Easy Day
May 29th
After a very crazy week, today’s been a pretty good day. S and I got up at our usual weekend time. The pup and I went out for a walk where we were once again greeted by stifling heat. This entire week has felt like mid-July instead of late May. We don’t usually get heat like this until the end of June; needless to say we were caught off guard.
We turned the air conditioning on last weekend as the house was just too hot and muggy to be comfortable; especially up on the second floor where our bedroom is.
As she did last year, the pup has been adversely affected by the heat. She’s got an upset stomach, she’s not eating much and it takes her a long time to get comfortable when we come back from our walks. I can only imagine how hot she is under the weight of her fur.
I Heart Acupuncture
May 16th
Slowly but surely, my back’s been getting better. It’s still not 100% but I’m doing much better.
Friday before last, my acupuncturist suggested I try to sleep in my bed. By that point, I’d been sleeping on the futon for the better part of two weeks. I was feeling good, I’d stopped taking Advil in the morning and the stiffness didn’t last as long into the morning as it had previously. I slept in our bed for a few nights and I started feeling the stiffness returning. Not wanting to make the situation worse, I started sleeping on the futon again.
Early last week, I contacted my doctor’s office. I have insurance coverage through my benefits plan at work and it covers massage treatments. But, it will only pay for massage expenses if there’s a doctor’s note. I thought I’d have to spend a morning or afternoon sitting in my doctor’s office to get the note, but his admin assistant had it done up and faxed over to me within an hour.
Owie equals no Posts

I think this is the longest absence of posts on the blog in awhile. There have been a couple of reasons why I haven’t blogged these last few days but the major one has been my back. A few weekends ago, I picked up a 50 pound box of kitty litter that we got at Costco. I felt fine when I brought it into the house from the truck, but the next day, my back was sore.
The soreness wasn’t anything worse than I’ve experienced before; I figured it would pass after a few nights of sleep. Boy was I wrong. By Friday morning (nearly a week after I had picked up the litter), I was so stiff and sore that it hurt to get out of bed. That morning, I called up my acupuncturist and made an appointment with her for that evening after work.
When she touched my lower back, I jumped with discomfort. Usually when I’ve strained or pulled something, my acupuncturist will combine acupuncture and a massage as part of the treatment. A massage was out as the area was too inflamed to be touched. I made another appointment with her for Monday evening.
Homecoming

I’ve been a terrible blogger, I know. My last entry of any substance was posted weeks ago. I’m sure all (five? four? three?) of my readers have just been chomping at the bit waiting for an update. Well, here it is. Sort of.
Our move into the house has taken up most of my energy. Whatever energy is left has been taken up by work, Sophie the Kamikaze cat and my dad needing surgery on his bum shoulder. There’s entirely too much to write about and time is short so here’s the abridged version:
