One Month
Feb 15th
One month. That’s how much time is left before God of War III is released. One month tomorrow, it will be available in stores (and online) for purchase.
To taunt us some more, a new trailer was released last week. I would embed it into the post, but you have to sign in to prove you’re 18 since the material is considered “Mature.” Check out the link above and watch the video in HD; trust me, it’s totally worth it. I think it’s safe to say that it will be the game of the year.
I can’t believe the wait time is down to a month. Considering I thought the game was going to be released last year, it’s been a long wait.
There’s a whole whack of promotion material available for this release. Honestly, I don’t really care about extra boxes, posters or whatnot. I just want to have the game in my hot little hands and in my PS3. The demo (and all of the trailers) have shown that it will be an amazing visual experience.
If the blog is a little quiet a month from now, you’ll know why.
‘Tis a Thing of Beauty

Mondays are pretty long as it is. Now that I have class on Monday nights, it makes the day so much longer. I was in a mid-day funk earlier until I found something that made my pants very happy: the newest trailer for God of War III. I had originally thought that it would be released this month but word is that Sony will be releasing it during its next fiscal year, which goes until March ’10.
This video has been cleaned up a bit so it’s not as violent as the game will be. Still, the graphics are beyond amazing. The fluid motion, the contrast of colours, Kratos’ new moves and weapons, they’ve even kept the scar across Kratos’ stomach that he got in God of War II. It’s like no detail has been overlooked. It’s going to be a pretty sweet game.
The God of War games alone make owning a PS3 worth the price tag. There is talk of Sony lowering the price of the system and bundling it with the GOW III since 1 in 3 GOW players don’t currently own a PS3. Appealing to all of the GOW fans who don’t yet own a system would mean big things for Sony.

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

I long for spring. This has nothing to do with the fact that it’s snowing outside right now. Or that I’ll have to shovel the accumulation of tonight’s snowfall tomorrow morning.
My longing for spring can be summed up in one word: Kratos. Who the frickin’ frack is Kratos? He’s none other than the God of War.
I think I’ve made it pretty clear that I’m a geek. Computer software, hardware, cell phones, PDA’s, MP3 players, all pique my interest. I’m also quite fond of video games. I started playing them way back when my brother bought his first console, a Sega. I’m not talking about the Sega Genesis – this was before that – this was the SEGA MASTER System. Sounds mighty, don’t it? It came pre-installed with a motorcycle racing game that would make me dizzy and a ‘hidden’ maze game you could only get by punching the keys on the controls in a certain sequence.
