I wore my new glasses at work today. It’s funny how some people react, or rather, don’t. I ran into Co-worker 2 (CW2) while washing my coffee cup and I told her that if she thought me angelic before, I’d really appear angelic with my glasses on.
Once I put them on, I ventured over to CW2’s desk and she gasped. “You look like Julia Roberts!” She could tell by the look on my face that I wasn’t happy with the comparison. “What? You don’t like her?”
Just then, CW2’s boss (affectionately referred to as Communications bitch) walked over to me and said, “Did you do something different to your hair?” I thought she was being sarcastic.

Have a look at the picture below (clicking on it will open a larger version).
You would think that the liquor cabinet captured in the picture belonged to some savvy drinkers. Well, you’d be wrong.
That liquor cabinet can be found in our house. That’s right, S and I, who rarely have more than wine or beer to drink have stocked up on liquor – and not the cheap stuff, either.

How’s about a post that sort of babbles on? Ok!
I picked up our glasses today. On the way home, I opened the case containing S’s pair and was a bit alarmed; they looked a lot smaller than I remembered them being last week when she tried them on. “Oh no, this is not going to end well,” I thought to myself.
Luckily, the glasses were the right ones and S has been wearing them all afternoon. “Do these make me look geeky?” she asked me not long ago.
“No,” I replied. I asked if she was having doubts about them and she said she wasn’t. I thought they had a bit of a retro feel to them but they’re cool and she said herself earlier that they’re lighter and easier to see with than her previous pair.

So just how did I go from feeling uncomfortable by the guy’s comment to going to the movies with him?
Some background:
S and I have been working on setting up the room that the previous owners used as a bedroom for their children. We’ve painted it grey, removed the childish light fixtures, and bought furniture for it. When we removed the kid’s flowery lights we were left with two gaping holes in the wall. We initially thought we’d patch them up but then S remembered that she’d purchased two wall lamps that we could put to use.
We also needed an electrical outlet put in the wall where we’ll be placing the TV as we didn’t want to have extension cords running along the sides of the wall. To put up the lights and install an outlet, we knew we’d need an electrician. Christine and T referred us to a lad we’ll call Yaz.

I went to a movie last night – with a boy. The same boy I tweeted about last week:

How’d I go from wanting him to go away to going to see a movie with him? You’ll have to come back to find out. I am tired – it’s been a very long day – and I just don’t have the energy to write it out tonight.
This post will serve as incentive to tell the story.
