Two consecutive posts about politics is enough. How’s about some random ramblings?

First up, if you enjoy playing Tetris, than you need to check out First Person Tetris. It seems pretty straight forward, until you have to turn a piece, that it becomes pretty trippy.

Next up, Google Buzz was released this week; I’ve not yet made up my mind about it. Right now, it seems a bit invasive; I like having to sign in to Twitter separately to use it. Having people see my updates or what not right in my inbox seems a bit too personal. Plus, there are people on my contact list that I have no interest in sharing my updates with. It might prove to be a good tool, but for now I’ve turned it off.

S and I have gotten back to watching HGTV since we often find that there isn’t anything good to watch on television. We’ve been enjoying this season’s Million Dollar Listing. A few weeks ago, S and I laughed at how neurotic Chad can be.

He had gone to great lengths to prepare a nice dinner for his girlfriend. His mother, who was helping him cook the meal asked him what the special occasion was. “I’m going to pop a question,” he said. When one hears “pop the question,” usually it’s in relation to a marriage proposal.

Being Chad, it didn’t have anything to do with asking his girlfriend’s hand in marriage. The question he wanted to ask his girlfriend? He wanted her to sign a legal document that would give him 50% ownership of her dog. Needless to say, the girlfriend was not impressed and quickly excused herself from the table.

S and I were sitting at our computers on Saturday morning when a remake of the song, “Forever Young” came on the radio. The following conversation ensued:

Me: What the hell is this?
S: I don’t know, but it sucks.
Me: It seems like everything is being remade. Did you know that they’re doing a new Ferris Bueller’s Day Off?
S: They are? Who’s going to be in it?
Me: I don’t know. But there’s going to be a new Flashdance, too.
S: What?!
Me: Starring Zac Efron.
S: Oh, Lord. Who will be the female lead?
Me: [shrug]
S: Nevermind, he probably is.

Winter is pretty sucky. Between temperatures in the -20s, ice on the ground, the extra layering of clothes, darkness at 5pm and of course, the fun of frozen pipes, we have some pretty long months here.

The City has this program to try to make winter a little more bearable. It’s called WinterCity Festival and the City bills it as “A Celebration of Culture, Creativity and Cuisine.” It’s the cuisine part I’m looking forward to.

I came across this map mashup which has all of the restaurants participating, along with the option to filter selections by prices. I found the mashup this afternoon and I spent countless minutes salivating as I looked over some of the menus.
