Gig-a-what?

Oh Marigold. Such a sweet woman who’s English (or lack thereof sometimes) just makes her all the more endearing.

The other day she was practically in tears in frustration as it was taking her computer ten minutes to open a file and her boss was barking at her to run some reports. “I cannot work like this!” she said, throwing her hands up in the air.

I asked her if I could have a look at her computer and she eagerly moved out of the way. A quick look at the hardware showed that she only had 504MB of RAM. I said that was likely not helping the situation and suggested she ask IT to upgrade her to at least a gigabyte of RAM.

Earlier today, she was complaining about her computer’s slowness when I heard her boss suggest she (Marigold) write our department head to push her request through IT.

“I will do that, as I need at least one jiggabyte!”
