What’s that sin, one of the seven deadly ones? Gluttony I think is the one I’m thinking about. That’s what I feel like we’ve been indulging in these few weeks. Other than the frozen pipes fiasco earlier this week, S and I have engaged in a lot of sleeping in, TV watching and overall relaxing.

S has been putting her Kindle to use; she’s loaded it up with PDFs she’d previously bought and has added new books to her collection. I’ve killed my time with crime show marathons. I’ve watched more CSI (Las Vegas and Miami) and all three versions of Law & Order episodes in the last few weeks than I have in the last few years.

Other than this morning, when I got up early to run errands with my mom, I’ve been sleeping in until close to ten. Yesterday, I was finishing my breakfast coffee at quarter to noon. Needless to say, getting up early on Monday to go to work is really going to suck.

Speaking of work, I haven’t bothered checking my e-mail. S has kept in touch with her office, she was even scheduled for a conference call the other day. I’ll probably check my e-mail before Monday, I’m just not ready for that yet.

Other than crime shows, I’ve also watched a few movies lately. Unfortunately, most of them have been really bad. S and I rented the latest Harry Potter movie and we had no idea what was going on. Maybe we should have re-watched the previous movie to catch up on where things were at. I remember the first few Harry Potter movies, they were cute and all about the magic. Now it’s like watching a modern day version of The Exorcist.

Since nothing else was on one night, I sat through I Love You, Man. The writing was lame, Paul Rudd was annoying and what was supposed to be funny was anything but. Another time I couldn’t find anything on, I left it on He’s Just Not That Into You for about 30 minutes. Wow, it was an eye opener into how straight women act when it comes to men. The women in the movie were just so pathetic. They let these men in their lives walk all over them and then they agonized over why the men didn’t call back or didn’t want to get married. I thought lesbians were crazy.

One movie S and I enjoyed was The Proposal. Sandra Bullock was her usual cute self but there was very little chemistry between her and Ryan Reynolds. I’m going to blame that on the fact that Reynolds is a petty princess. I’ve been seeing a lot of positive press for Sandra lately, I hope awards season is good for her.

The next few days, the last ones of our vacation, are pretty plan-free. We’re thinking we’ll go watch a movie tomorrow, depending on what’s playing. We’ve also scheduled brunch with K and P on Saturday morning. Other than that, we’ll be continuing our vegetative state.
