‘Berry on the Streetcar

2009 November 19

I found a Blackberry on the streetcar on my way home tonight. I looked through it and found the owner’s contact info. I called the number on the home screen and it was an office that was closed for the day so I e-mailed the girl at the two e-mail addresses she has set-up on the device.

I am guessing the girl will want to meet up tomorrow to get her phone back. That’s fine, I am home from work tomorrow; but I’m going to ask that she come out to where I’m at since I don’t particularly feel like travelling downtown on my day off.

It’s funny, one of the girl’s e-mail addresses was domain-specific so I checked out the site and saw that it is under construction. I’m guessing by the messages and notes on the phone that she’s a photographer. When we meet, I’ll give her some of my business cards and put a bug in her ear about setting up her web site.

Speaking of days off, my boss forgot that I had also booked Monday off and got pissy today when I reminded him. There’s lots on the go for us right now, but he knew that when he approved the time off. I wasn’t about to volunteer to go into work or work from home to appease him.

The temp did show up on Tuesday and she’s turned out to be really helpful. She’s fast and from what I can tell, is really comfortable using the content management system. She’s so shy and awkward though. Her workstation doesn’t have a phone and she hasn’t been set up with e-mail, so every time she has a question she’ll come over to my desk to ask me. She approaches my desk like I’m going to take a swing at her.

I don’t think I come across as unapproachable or rude. On her first day, I tried to engage her in chit-chat by asking her about the agency she came in from and if she likes coffee. I thought if she liked the latter, she could join us our morning Tim’s run sometime. All I got back was one-word replies so I left it at that.

Tomorrow is the Cranberries concert which I’m totally stoked for. What I’m not excited about is P being difficult once again. She had said that she would stay over at our place tomorrow night after the show. Yesterday she told S that she won’t be staying over because she has to go to the gym on Saturday morning. S asked why she didn’t go to the gym later on in the day and P replied that the class she takes is only offered first thing. So instead of crashing here after the show tomorrow, she’s going to drive to the ‘burbs at midnight just to make it to her gym class.

We don’t even know what her plan is for tomorrow. Is she coming by the house to drop off her dog in the morning? Or is she just going to meet us after work?

We were supposed to have dinner at K’s place on Saturday but P’s making that difficult too. K has a soccer game Saturday afternoon so she suggested having us over for a late dinner. S and I were fine with that but P wasn’t as it was “too much running around” for her. Considering S and I would be picking her up, I’m not sure what run-around she’s referring to.

I’m not really sure why P has to make everything so frustratingly difficult. She finally passed the test that was stressing her out so much so the excuses are running out.

S and I don’t have very many plans for the weekend. We’re thinking of going to see a movie. Any recommendations or suggestions, internets?

The girl was barely legal and totally hetero. When she called she was like, “my driver is taking me to work…”

How was the Blind Side? S has expressed an interest in going to see it, but she doesn’t want to cry in the theatre so we’ll wait till its on DVD. How was New Moon, as bad as Twilight? LOL

I was going to suggest Precious, too. Someone once found my BB and I went to their house to pick it up!

Was Precious really sad? I’d like to see it but S isn’t fond of tears in public.

We still haven’t seen Marley & Me.
