My bitch didn’t show up for work today. I’m not sure why, I was under the impression she’d be starting today. Towards the end of the day Mr. G stopped by my desk to let me know that the temp would be starting tomorrow. Since he’s not sure he’ll be in at 9, he gave me the temp’s card so that I could meet her tomorrow to let her in. I guess I know what I’m doing tomorrow morning.

I need to find a book to read that will keep my attention. I got about 100 pages into Hopeful Monsters but just couldn’t get into it. Maybe I was reading it too closely after The Kindly Ones, and it was just too much WWII for me. Regardless, I haven’t picked it up in ages and I’m thinking I should return it to its owner. I started another book, but only got about ten pages into it. I don’t even remember what it was called.

A large part of not reading has to do with losing prime streetcar reading time on my commute lately. There have been some route changes and diversions and as a result the streetcars I take are now sardine cans. I can barely find enough space to stand, let alone hold open a book.

Oh! I’ve recently discovered a new, more efficient way of getting people to move out of the way on transit. “Excuse me” is no longer necessary, all you have to do is cough or sneeze and everyone around you will immediately take steps to get away from you. Following a sneeze or cough, one sees newspapers pulled frantically up around faces, scarves wrapped tightly around mouths and heads turned away. All to avoid the plague. Or, the H1N1 as we’re calling it in ’09.

I finally finished my freelance web site and sent out the link to friends and other random people in my contact list yesterday. I’m in the process of switching over a new client to my host but like the last time, there are some hurdles. I’ve had positive feedback on it so far, but friends tend to tell you nice things even if it’s not the truth.

That’s all my wittle brain can handle this Monday night.
