Quick Nooner
A quick post before I run out to run errands on my lunch.
The repair place I e-mailed on Sunday never got back to me. The e-mail didn’t bounce back to me so I’m not sure what their deal is. Regardless, they lost out on some business. Tried as I might, I couldn’t find the last place I took a computer in for repairs to. I think perhaps they went out of business.
Tired of waiting around for other people, I decided to fix things myself. Some online searches lead me to an article on the Dell web site that mentioned a feature in my particular model that will let you go back to original factory settings. The downside of course being that everything would be lost. Considering the fact that I was looking at running a repair with an XP disc, data loss would have been likely in that scenario as well.
I do keep regularly back-ups so I wasn’t worried about losing much. I did the system restore earlier this week and it was like taking my machine back in time; it had AOL software on it and IE6! That’s just wrong. I’ve been having some glitches with the security software I use, but I think I will work around it for now and get to re-installing my programs and loading my files.
Work has been aggravating of late, won’t go into too much detail as that is where I am right now. Best to avoid whatever monitoring filters are in place while here.
Not too much planned for this weekend, we are going out to dinner with K and P tonight as it is K’s birthday next week. Other than doing stuff around the house, I think my time this weekend will be spent working on getting the pc back to normal and reading. With the pc stuff resolved, I’m hoping to get back to blogging more regularly and more importantly, get my other site complete and up.
