Here are some snippets of conversations had by S and I recently:

Driving in the car, I was scrolling through her ipod looking for something to play when I noticed a particular band was on there.

Me: You have Nickelback on here?
S: They’re like the Def Leppard of today, only not as good.

While watching Transporter 2:

S (arms in the air punctuating her words): These movies are all about fighting, shooting and driving.

At the video game store:

S: Let’s get the Simpson’s game!
Me: But you don’t play PS3 games.
S: I know, but I can watch you play!
Me: Oh, lord.

On the streetcar, sitting a few seats ahead of a man who was laughing and talking to himself:

S: Well, at least he’s happy.

On the same streetcar trip, S was digging through one of her jacket pockets. More and more of her arm kept disappearing into her pocket as I began to wonder just how deep it went. Suddenly, she pulled out a fruit bar, eyes alight and asked, “wanna snack?!”

S’s brain processes things a bit quicker than her mouth can get the words out. One instance of this was when she was explaining the number of lactaid pills she takes before eating dairy. I was sitting on the couch and as she approached she said:

“Have you never seen me take 7-can I sit there?”

Needless to say, a lot of what S says is random and most times, I’m left unaware, unsure of what just happened. She’s cute, so it works out.
