I found it this morning. It was really a total fluke, the receipt must have been under the bed and Sophie dragged it out from under. There I was getting dressed when I happen to glance down and see the Crappy Tire receipt.

I went downstairs and let S know about it and she suggested I not tell my brother I’d found the receipt.  “Just tell him that you threw it out since you got them exactly what they wanted.”

While this would be fun to do, I decided that the aggravation wouldn’t be worth it. I’d spend the next year listening to both my mother and brother bemoan my carelessness.

I called my brother at work and suggested dropping it off to him on my way home (his office isn’t too far from mine) . He was staying late so that worked for him. On my way there, S messaged me and asked if I wanted to meet her so we could go for dinner. She was nearby after being at an off-site meeting for work. I said that’d be great so after dropping off the receipt at my brother’s office, I made my way to where S was waiting for me.

“There’s a bunch of stuff on sale,” she eagerly announced, “lets go shopping!” I playfully smacked her arm with my gloves and told her she’d tricked me into meeting her. She knows I’m not a  shopper so had she asked me to go meet her for a shopping excursion, I wouldn’t have been so enthused about it.

We managed to pick up some serving dishes and bowls since we’re quite into the entertaining game and then went for dinner.  Waiting for the waiter to come back with our drinks, S announced, “I like white plates.” I laughed and told her how cute she was.

Later on, she shared,”I want to smoke and play video games.” She’s spent the last week solving crime in a CSI game on the Wii. We’ve been going to bed past our bedtime because she refuses to go to bed without finishing the case. She completed the game last night so now she’s trying out a game that resembles Grand Theft Auto only the graphics aren’t nearly as good.

As for me, I’m blogging (obviously) and blog-hopping. It’s been a pretty long week and the drop in temperature today didn’t help things. When I took the little head out for a walk this morning, it was -20 with the windchill. The puppy didn’t want to be out there for very long. We made it to our local park and she promptly turned around and started back home. I really shouldn’t complain though, western Canada has been under a deep freeze with temperature hitting -40 in some parts for a few weeks now. I swear, Torontonians really aren’t whiners. (Unless of course you get us talking about our shitty hockey team.)

This weekend will probably fly by. I don’t have too much planned but one thing I will be sure to take care of is backing up my site and database. Reading about the ordeal Pam’s House Blend has been going through this week, has really served as a reminder to stay on top of constant back-ups. Wouldn’t want all of my genious ramblings lost out in the internets blackhole.
