The Streetcar Chronicles

Someone from my hosts’ support team got back to me about an hour ago. They mentioned something about the Apache instance my domain is on being mis-configured. I don’t really know what that means or how I would go about correcting it on my own if it were to happen again. I’ll be turning to my good friend Google to try and figure this out.

On another, non-broken-blog note, I can’t believe I’ll be going back to work tomorrow. These last few weeks have just flown by. We’ve been going to bed around midnight for the last few nights and sleeping in past nine. Getting up tomorrow at 6:30 is really going to hurt.

I should admit though, that getting back to a routine will be a welcome change since our eating and sleeping patterns have been all over the map. But it’s feeling more like it’s back to the doom and gloom of it all. I haven’t been following the news while off so there’s been no talk of recession or job loss or any of that lately. As of tomorrow, that’s all back on the front burner.

Tomorrow also brings with it the end of our tree. All that is left is the stump which needs to be ground down. I believe the Arborists will be back tomorrow to finish that up. With the tree gone, our contractor will be able to come in and do the rest of the work we’d like done. Hopefully, that’ll be the last of the renovations for awhile. *fingers crossed.*

Going back to work tomorrow will also mean dealing with the weather again. I’ve been cocooned in the basement watching movies for the better part of two weeks. Now I’ll have to reacquaint myself with ol’ man winter. I hope this month and next aren’t too frigid or bring on too much snow. (A girl can hope.)

I should be going to bed soon but I’m not sleepy yet. Maybe I’ll play some Grand Theft Auto, or maybe S will want to play some MarioKart.

Earlier today, my blog wasn’t functioning very well. Hell, it wasn’t functioning at all. Typing thestreetcarchronicles.com/blog into the address bar ended up taking you to some French blog.

I don’t know if it means my site was hacked but I wrote to my hosts’ support center and am waiting to hear back. When I did a search for Wordpress blogs hacks, most of the articles described instances of the blogs remaining intact, just spammed or used to spam others. Plus, my version of wordpress is up to date and I’ve done everything suggested to make my log-in secure.

Since the URL was re-directing completely, it makes me think it wasn’t necessarily a wordpress issue, but a hosting one.

Have any of you self-hosted wordpress users (not wordpress.com users, sorry) ever encountered something like this?

Obviously it’s back up and running now but if you check back later and its on some French site, let a girl know will ya?
