Oh happy day!! I love Gmail, in fact, I pretty much love all things Google. (Although, I haven’t tried Chrome out yet, but that’s fodder for another post.) What makes today such a happy one? Google has introduced colours and themes for Gmail users!

I noticed earlier that my inbox had some additional colours added to it and upon doing some investigating and finding out that I didn’t screw anything up, I learned that themes were being rolled out – starting today. I’ve set up the “Shiny” theme and I like it. (Almost as much as Katy Perry liked kissing a girl.) My inbox is real purdy now.

I try to convince folks that I know that Gmail is the way to go. From ‘bundled’ conversations to being able to save attachments in Google docs to chatting right from your inbox, Gmail Is by far the best web-based e-mail out there. I remembered when it was first launched and it came with 1GB of free space (or was it 2?). At the time, Yahoo and Hotmail only offered 20MB. Ha! If you wanted more space, you had to pay for it.

Of course, Yahoo and Hotmail have since done some revamping – trying to appease all of those Outlook lovers out there. And wouldn’t you know, both now offer 5GB of space for free. Gmail is still offering way more space (7GB+) and all of the other features that have always made it better.

I must utilize six or seven different Google applications (e-mail being the most used to Google Desktop which comes in pretty handy). My only qualm with the e-mail had been (until today) its blandness. It was just so very white. But now? Not so much!

Anyone who visits this blog knows that I change the style and layout more often than some people change their sheets. What can I say? I have the attention span of a four year old on speed; I like change, like trying out how something new will look. I’m sure I’ll soon be dressing up my inbox in some new colours. Yay for being able to do so!

The point to all of this? None, really.
